The Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) has announced its candidates for the 2026 Assembly elections, including founder C. Joseph Vijay.
The Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) has officially announced its candidates for all 234 Assembly constituencies in Tamil Nadu ahead of the upcoming elections on April 23, 2026. Notably, the party’s founder, C. Joseph Vijay, will contest from Perambur and Trichy East.
Vijay, who is 51 years old, founded TVK in 2024 and aims to provide a clean, people-centric alternative to the ruling DMK. “It will be C. Joseph Vijay from Perambur in Chennai and Tiruchirappalli East,” he stated, emphasizing his commitment to the constituents.
The candidate list includes notable figures such as N. Anand, Adhav Arjuna, R. Arunraaj, CTR Nirmal Kumar, and K. A. Sengottaiyan. Vijay has made it clear that these candidates come from ordinary families, aiming to challenge the perception that only experienced politicians can lead.
In his remarks, Vijay pointed out, “They say our people have no experience. But those with experience have only used that experience to loot.” He has also administered a pledge to his candidates to avoid corruption and ensure the safety of women, highlighting his focus on integrity.
Vijay’s entry into politics marks his debut in parliamentary politics, and he is positioning TVK as a formidable challenger in what he describes as a “two-front battle” against the DMK. “This election is a two-front battle between TVK, which has formed an alliance with the people, and the DMK,” he asserted.
As the election date approaches, observers are keen to see how TVK’s grassroots approach resonates with voters. Details remain unconfirmed regarding further strategic alliances or campaign plans as the party gears up for the electoral battle.
