Ssc: What is the Latest Update on the GD Constable Exam 2026?

The SSC GD Constable Exam 2026 has been postponed, with new dates announced for April to May 2026. Candidates are encouraged to utilize this time for preparation.

The SSC GD Constable examination has become a highly competitive recruitment process due to the significant number of vacancies and the large number of applicants. Originally scheduled for February 23, 2026, the exam has now been postponed, with new dates set from April 27 to May 30, 2026, to be conducted in four phases.

During this period, candidates will have the opportunity to select their preferred exam week between April 11 and April 15, 2026. This change has been met with mixed reactions, as many candidates express uncertainty about the delay but also recognize it as a chance to enhance their preparation.

“Candidates should continue preparation and utilize the extra time effectively,” a spokesperson from the Staff Selection Commission stated. The postponement, while challenging, may provide a valuable opportunity for candidates to refine their skills and knowledge.

More than 25,000 vacancies have been announced for the SSC GD Constable recruitment in 2026, making this exam a crucial step for many aspiring candidates. The examination will consist of multiple stages, including a Computer-Based Test (CBT), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), and Medical Examination.

The SSC GD exam will cover subjects such as General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Knowledge, Elementary Mathematics, and English or Hindi. Candidates will receive a city intimation slip 5-7 days before their scheduled exam, with the admit card being released 2-3 days prior.

In a notable update, candidates will be awarded full marks for any questions found to be ambiguous, incorrect, or lacking a correct option in the answer key. However, negative marking will still apply for incorrect responses as per existing rules.

The exam will be conducted in four shifts each day, with the first shift starting at 9:00 AM and a reporting time of 7:45 AM. This structured approach aims to accommodate the large number of candidates expected to participate.

As the exam date approaches, candidates are advised to stay informed and prepared. Details remain unconfirmed regarding the exact schedule for the exam shifts and the specific date for the release of the admit card.

With the SSC GD Constable exam being a significant recruitment event, observers anticipate that the adjustments made will ultimately benefit candidates in their preparation efforts. As the situation develops, officials will continue to provide updates to ensure transparency and clarity for all involved.
