The case against Ashok Kharat has escalated with new allegations and significant findings. Investigations reveal shocking details about his activities.
The case against Ashok Kharat, a self-styled godman and astrologer, has taken a serious turn as police have filed two additional rape FIRs against him. This development adds to the already alarming allegations surrounding Kharat, who is accused of being involved in five instances of human sacrifice. The Nashik District Sessions Court has remanded him to five days of police custody, highlighting the gravity of the situation.
Investigations have uncovered assets worth approximately ₹40 crore linked to Kharat, raising questions about the extent of his illegal activities. Reports indicate that he has traveled to 13 different countries, which may suggest a broader network of operations. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has also recovered a revolver, 21 cartridges, and ₹6 lakh in cash from Kharat’s possession, further complicating his legal troubles.
Victims of Kharat have reported experiencing nausea after consuming substances he provided, indicating potential drugging as part of his alleged manipulations. Trupti Desai, a prominent activist, has condemned Kharat’s actions, stating, “Ashok Kharat is a pervert. This perversion is eating away at the fabric of Maharashtra.” She emphasized that he should not be afforded any protection under the law.
Public Prosecutor Ajay Misar has expressed concerns that Kharat might be involved in even more heinous crimes, including human sacrifice and illegal hunting. The investigation is ongoing, with a pen drive containing videos of Kharat’s victims requiring further scrutiny.
During court proceedings, Kharat claimed, “I have no knowledge of snakes or tigers, I am hearing it for the first time,” in response to allegations that he used plastic snakes and tiger skins to intimidate his victims. This denial adds another layer of complexity to the case, as the prosecution builds its argument against him.
As the investigation unfolds, the number of women who have reportedly suffered injustice at Kharat’s hands is said to be around 1,500, indicating a widespread pattern of abuse. The situation remains fluid, and further developments are expected as authorities continue to probe the depths of Kharat’s alleged crimes.
Details remain unconfirmed regarding the full extent of Kharat’s network and the potential involvement of others in his illicit activities. The community watches closely as the case progresses, with many hoping for justice for the victims.
