Aditya Uppal, who played Omar Hamid in Dhurandhar: The Revenge, expresses deep admiration for Sanjay Dutt, highlighting their memorable interactions on set.
Aditya Uppal, known for his role as Omar Hamid in the film Dhurandhar: The Revenge, has openly expressed his admiration for Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt. Uppal, a lifelong fan of Dutt, described his experience working alongside the veteran actor as both intimidating and inspiring.
During filming, Uppal had the opportunity to meet Dutt for the first time on set in Amritsar. He recalled the moment fondly, stating, “Just standing next to him felt like an achievement in itself. Sharing screen space and dialogues with him was truly special.” This sentiment reflects the profound impact Dutt has had on Uppal, who has admired his films since childhood, particularly Sadak and Saajan.
Uppal’s admiration was further demonstrated when he touched Dutt’s feet on set, a gesture of respect and reverence. “You do feel intimidated, obviously. He is a senior actor, a name we’ve all grown up watching,” Uppal remarked, highlighting the weight of sharing the screen with such a prominent figure in Indian cinema.
Notably, Dutt chose to perform scenes with Uppal instead of using a double, which Uppal described as a meaningful gesture for a newcomer. “Even during my close-up shots, he chose to stay back and perform the scene with me instead of stepping away and using a double,” Uppal noted, emphasizing Dutt’s commitment to supporting his co-stars.
Uppal also expressed a desire to collaborate with filmmaker and actor Farhan Akhtar, stating, “I’d really love to share screen space with Farhan Akhtar. I genuinely admire his kind of cinema and his work as an actor.” This ambition reflects Uppal’s aspirations within the industry, inspired by the figures he admires.
As Uppal continues to navigate his career in Bollywood, his experiences with Dutt serve as a foundation for his growth as an actor. Observers are keen to see how this admiration will influence his future projects and collaborations in the film industry.
