The recent SSC CHSL exam in Telangana has raised serious concerns about exam security following a paper leak incident.
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has officially released the SSC CHSL Final Answer Key for the 2025-26 academic year, allowing candidates to check their response sheets and marks online. This development follows the declaration of the Tier-I result on February 27, 2026, and the final answer key was uploaded on March 19, 2026.
However, the examination held in Nizamabad, Telangana, has been marred by controversy. Just 30 minutes after the exam began, papers were circulated on social media, leading to the suspension of nine officials. An invigilator reportedly took a photograph of the question paper and shared it shortly after the exam commenced.
Dr. E. Naveen Nicolas, a spokesperson for the Staff Selection Commission, stated, “This was not really a paper leak. It was an invigilator who took a photograph of the question paper and circulated it around 12.30 pm.” This incident has sparked significant concern among teachers’ unions and parents alike.
Chava Ravi, a representative of the Telangana State United Teachers’ Federation, emphasized the need for district authorities to empower invigilators. He remarked, “District authorities need to give invigilators the confidence to carry out their duties without fear while maintaining strict checks.” This highlights the ongoing challenges faced by exam officials in ensuring a secure testing environment.
Parents are particularly worried that students may have to retake the exam due to this incident. Venkat Sainath, an education advocate, warned, “If a violation of this scale is confirmed, students may have to face the burden of writing the paper again.”
Similar incidents of paper leaks have occurred in previous years, indicating a recurring issue with exam security. The SSC has faced scrutiny over its ability to maintain the integrity of its examinations, with notable leaks reported in 2018, 2023, and 2025.
As the situation unfolds, observers are keenly watching how the SSC will address these concerns and what measures will be implemented to prevent future incidents. Details remain unconfirmed regarding the exact implications for the affected students and the broader examination process.
