Weather stations at Palam and Lodhi Road reported a minimum temperature of 16.6 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature reached 33.2 degrees Celsius, which is 4.3 degrees above normal.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for light rain and gusty winds, indicating changing weather patterns in the region. Mahesh Palawat from the IMD noted, “Due to a western disturbance approaching the western Himalayas, cyclonic activity has developed over central Pakistan adjoining Punjab and Haryana.”

This weather change has brought the season’s first pre-monsoon rain, arriving about ten days earlier than usual. Parts of Delhi received light rainfall on the morning of March 15, providing some relief from the prevailing dry conditions.

At Safdarjung, the maximum temperature was recorded at 30.1 degrees Celsius, while the minimum was 18.7 degrees Celsius. The air quality index in Delhi was reported at 153, categorized as ‘moderate’.

Looking ahead, the minimum temperature is forecasted to be around 14-16 degrees Celsius by March 16, 2026, with the maximum expected to settle around 31-33 degrees Celsius.

Additionally, the city is likely to witness very light showers accompanied by strong surface winds on March 18, 2026. This weather pattern may continue to influence the temperature and air quality in the coming days.
