Ashutosh maharaj attacked in moving train

Ashutosh Maharaj was attacked in a moving train while traveling, sustaining serious injuries. He has accused notable figures of being behind the incident.

Ashutosh Maharaj had previously filed an FIR alleging sexual harassment of batuks against Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand.

On March 8, 2026, at around 5 AM, Ashutosh Maharaj was attacked while traveling on a moving train from Ghaziabad to Prayagraj. The attacker allegedly attempted to cut Maharaj’s nose with a sharp weapon, resulting in serious injuries and significant blood loss.

In a desperate bid to save his life, Maharaj managed to escape and locked himself inside the train’s toilet. Following the incident, he contacted the Government Railway Police (GRP) to report the attack.

Legal Actions

An FIR was registered based on Maharaj’s complaint, and he has accused Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand and his disciple Mukundanand of being responsible for the assault. Maharaj stated, “Every drop of blood would be avenged through legal means,” emphasizing his intention to pursue justice.

In response to the allegations, Shankaracharya rejected the claims, asserting that the incident was merely a drama. Maharaj countered this by stating, “It was absurd to suggest that someone would stage an attack on themselves.” He further revealed that the attacker had claimed the act was intended to offer his nose at the feet of his ‘guru’.

Investigation Status

The GRP has initiated an investigation into the matter following the registration of the FIR. Observers are closely monitoring the developments, as the situation continues to unfold.

Details remain unconfirmed regarding the full circumstances surrounding the attack and the ongoing investigation.
