Eala, who was seeded 31st in the tournament, had a promising start. She received a bye into the second round and subsequently won her match against Dayana Yastremska in a challenging three-set encounter. However, she maintained a positive outlook, saying, “I think tomorrow I’ll feel better than I do now, but I’m in the fourth round at Indian Wells and I’m really happy about that.” Eala also reflected on her future in tennis, asserting, “It doesn’t matter if I win the tournament in Miami or lose first round, I know that I’m here to stay.”

Analysts believe Eala should be pleased with her debut run at the Indian Wells Open, despite the humbling defeat in the round of 16. Her performance is seen as a positive step in her career, indicating her potential to compete at higher levels.
