The National Testing Agency has released the exam city intimation slips for NEET UG 2026, scheduled for May 3, 2026. Candidates can now plan their travel accordingly.
For the last two years, over 20 lakh students have been registering for the NEET UG exam, which serves as the sole examination in India for shortlisting candidates for undergraduate medical courses. This year, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has taken a significant step by releasing the exam city intimation slips for NEET UG 2026.
The NEET UG 2026 is set to take place on May 3, 2026, from 2 PM to 5 PM. Candidates can now check and download their examination city intimation slip from neet.nta.nic.in using their application number and date of birth. However, it is important to note that this city intimation slip is not the admit card for the exam.
As clarified by the NTA, “This is not the admit card for NEET UG 2026. It is only an advance intimation regarding the city where your examination centre will be located.” The official admit card for NEET UG 2026 will be released at a later stage, approximately three to four days before the exam.
The city intimation slip allows candidates to plan their travel and accommodation in advance. With 552 cities conducting the NEET UG 2026, the logistics of reaching the examination center can be quite complex for many students.
In recent years, the number of candidates registering for NEET UG has been steadily increasing. In 2024, 24,06,079 candidates registered, while in 2023, the number was 20,87,462, and in 2022, it was 18,72,343. This upward trend highlights the growing interest in pursuing medical education in India.
The NEET paper will include a total of 180 compulsory questions: 45 in physics, 45 in chemistry, and 90 in biology. This structured format is designed to assess the candidates’ knowledge comprehensively.
As the exam date approaches, candidates are advised to keep an eye on the official NTA website for updates regarding the release of the admit card and any other important announcements.
