KVS admissions for Balvatika and Class 1 have officially started, with significant dates and requirements announced for the 2026-27 academic year.
Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) has initiated the admissions process for Balvatika and Class 1 for the academic year 2026-27. The online registration commenced on March 20, 2026, at 10 AM, providing parents with a streamlined method to enroll their children in these foundational classes.
The deadline for online registration is set for April 2, 2026. KVS has implemented a lottery system for admissions, meaning that there will be no written tests or interviews for Class 1 applicants. This approach aims to ensure fairness and accessibility for all families.
To be eligible for Class 1, children must be at least 6 years old and below 8 years old as of March 31, 2026. Notably, children born on April 1 are also considered eligible. This age criterion is crucial for parents to keep in mind as they prepare their applications.
KVS has established a reservation policy for Class 1, which allocates 25% of seats for the Right to Education (RTE) Act, 15% for Scheduled Castes (SC), 7.5% for Scheduled Tribes (ST), 27% for Other Backward Classes (OBC), and 3% for Children with Special Needs (CwSN).
The first provisional list for Balvatika is expected to be declared on April 8, 2026, followed by the provisional list for Class 1 on April 9, 2026. This timeline is critical for parents who are eagerly awaiting the results of the admissions process.
For those interested in Balvatika-2 and Class II, offline registration will be available from April 2 to April 8, 2026. Parents should ensure they complete the registration process within these dates to secure a place for their children.
The last date for admission for all classes, except Class XI, is June 30, 2026. This deadline emphasizes the importance of timely registration and adherence to KVS guidelines.
Required documents for the application include proof of date of birth, residence proof, and a recent passport-size photograph. Parents must register on the online admissions portal at kvsonlineadmission.kvs.gov.in to initiate the process.
KVS admissions are conducted online to ensure transparency and ease of access, reflecting the organization’s commitment to providing quality education to students across India.
As the admissions process unfolds, parents and guardians are advised to stay informed about updates and ensure they meet all requirements for a successful application.
