ISTPakistan cricket great Shoaib Akhtar was left embarrased live on-air as the host asked him to leave the chat show midway. As the video clip of the incident went viral, Akhtar took to Twitter and issued a clarification.
The Babar Azam-led Pakistan cricket team continues to make its fans proud with back-to-back victories in the T20 World Cup 2021. However, some of the former Pakistani cricketers are making headlines for all the wrong reasons. After Waqar Younis’ “namaz in front of Hindus” comment left the iconic pace bowler red-faced, Shoaib Akhtar was asked to leave a cricket talk-show midway by the host.
Shoaib Akhtar was invited to discuss the Pakistan cricket team’s performance in the ongoing T20 World Cup by a Pakistani channel alongside world cricket greats like Sir Vivian Richards and David Gower. While discussing the rise of Shaheen Afridi and Haris Sohail in the national team, Akhtar was interrupted by the host Dr. Nauman Niaz.
Akhtar was displeased with the interruption and as he expressed his dissatisfaction, the host offered him to leave the show midway if he wants to. “You’re being a little rude and I don’t want to say this: but if you’re being over smart, you can go. I am saying this on air,” Niaz told Akhtar live on-air.
The video clip of the same has since gone viral on social media. Akhtar, later, resigned from the channel having been embarrassed about what happened during the live show.
